ABOUT THE GLS COMMUNITY IMPACT AWARDS

At GLS Injury Law, we believe strong communities are built by people who choose to serve others, lead with integrity, and make a positive impact.

Every day, we meet individuals whose lives have been changed by unexpected challenges. We also see firsthand the importance of neighbors helping neighbors and communities coming together during difficult times.

The GLS Community Impact Awards were created to recognize high school students who embody those same values.

Rather than focusing solely on grades or athletic accomplishments, this program celebrates students who are making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Whether through volunteerism, leadership, mentoring, advocacy, fundraising, or community service, these students remind us that one person truly can make an impact. Every community has young people quietly making a difference. They may not seek recognition, but they deserve it.

We invite you to help us find those students, celebrate their impact, and inspire others to lead through service. Together, we can recognize today's leaders while investing in a stronger tomorrow.

Nominations are accepted from teachers, school counselors, principals, coaches, club advisors, parents/guardians, nonprofit organizations, community members, faith leaders, and student peers.

Students may also nominate themselves with a letter of recommendation from a school or community leader.

R

SHARE THEIR STORY

Rather than lengthy essays, we ask nominators to describe the student's impact.

We request student information, grade level, a short description of their community impact, volunteer & service activities, optional photos/videos, and optional letters of support.

R

REVIEW PROCESS

Each month, nominations are reviewed by an independent Community Impact Awards Committee.

Applications are evaluated based on: community impact; how the student positively influenced others; whether the student demonstrated initiative, responsibility, and the ability to inspire others; whether the student has consistently volunteered or given back to the community; and whether the student demonstrates integrity, compassion, and respect.

R

STUDENTS ARE AWARDED MONTHLY

Nominations for each month are due by the last day of the month and will be awarded within the first week of the following month.

Annual GLS Community Scholarships will be awarded in May and coordinated to align with each school's existing awards and recognition programs whenever possible.
