York County Snowy Crash Leaves Three Injured After Pickup Truck Rollover in Hellam Township

Home » Blog » York County Snowy Crash Leaves Three Injured After Pickup Truck Rollover in Hellam Township

Feb 25, 2026 | Accident Reports

A snow-related rollover crash in York County, PA left two people injured Sunday night, according to the Wrightsville Fire Department.

Emergency crews responded to the 4200 block of Furnace Road in Hellam Township around 9:00 p.m. after reports of a pickup truck that had overturned in snowy conditions. When first responders arrived, they found the vehicle flipped onto its side with three occupants trapped inside.

Rescue teams quickly initiated a “roof flap” extrication, a technique used to safely remove severely trapped passengers by cutting and lifting the roof of the vehicle. All three individuals were successfully removed from the truck.

Officials confirmed that two of the occupants sustained minor injuries, while the condition of the third individual has not been fully detailed.

Photos from the scene show the pickup truck overturned in the snow, highlighting the dangerous road conditions at the time of the crash.

What Caused the Crash?

While the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation, snowy and icy road conditions are believed to have played a significant role. Winter weather can reduce traction, increase stopping distances, and make vehicles more prone to sliding or rolling over—especially on rural or less-treated roadways like Furnace Road.

Safety Reminder for Winter Driving in York County

  • Reduce speed and increase following distance
  • Avoid sudden braking or sharp turns
