Civil Recourse Against Drunk Driving

Home » Blog » Civil Recourse Against Drunk Driving

We, at GLS Injury Law, have always considered it a privilege when someone entrusts our firm with caring for them and their family following a motor vehicle accident. It is a tremendous responsibility, not only to achieve a financial recovery that will take care of them for the present and into the future, but to make them as comfortable as possible throughout the process. You cannot put a price tag on peace-of-mind.

Over the years, we have represented many victims of accidents caused by drunk drivers. While the physical and emotional carnage resulting from any automobile accident can be devastating, the losses from this type of accident are particularly disturbing. I say this, because, unlike many accidents, those caused by drunk driving are completely avoidable.

When I was a prosecutor in the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office, I observed the effects that drunk driving caused, from a criminal standpoint, up close. Now, as an injury lawyer whose practice concentrates on recovering financial compensation for those hurt in car, truck and motorcycle crashes, I have a front-row seat to how a drunk driver can physically, emotionally and financially devastate a family. The ripple effect of a drunk driving accident is unimaginable; not only is the innocent victim and their family scarred in countless ways, but the drunk driver has to live with their actions for the rest of their life.

Unfortunately, no matter how many articles I or others write about the horrific consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol, it is still going to continue to happen. However, victims of this crime must not be passive. As a community, we need to send a message to drunk drivers.

If you, a friend or a loved one has been injured by a drunk driver, we can help. For years, GLS Injury Law has stood by the side of Lancastrians and their families, fighting for their rights and holding drunk drivers and the insurance companies which cover them financially accountable. These cases are sensitive and unique in many ways, and our vast experience in this area has equipped us to handle them with unparalleled vigor, great compassion and tremendous success. Although I hope that nobody reading this article is ever a victim of drunk driving, if you need us, we are here.
