A fatal East Hempfield Township e-bike accident occurred Tuesday afternoon, April 14, at the intersection of Wilson Avenue and Dartmouth Drive.

According to police, the crash was reported at approximately 4:06 p.m. A 30-year-old Lancaster City resident was riding an e-bike when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a 75-year-old individual.

The e-bike rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office later identified the victim as Christopher White.

Officials confirmed that the driver of the vehicle was not injured.

The intersection remained closed for more than two hours while emergency crews and investigators responded to and processed the scene.

The cause of death was determined to be multiple traumatic injuries, and the manner of death has been ruled an accident.

Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding what led to the crash. The incident remains under active investigation.
